09.11.2025 from Neil McTear
Far better grip than the Falkens that came with the car, although they still had lots of tread left, they were old and on removal it was found the sidewalls and beads were perished, and were the wrong size. Toyo are current the only manufacturer producing 205/45-15's and these had previously been unavailable for the previous decade, the improvement in both grip and roadholding is impressive, can't comment on wear yet due to limited mileage, fuel consumption difference - I haven't checked.
30.05.2022 from David Hardiman
Huge difference with the new Toyo Tires compared to the older ones I had on the car. These are the best tires I have ever used.
09.12.2019 from Sebastian Dysarski
Good tire soft side wall so corners are average. But overall good price was okay wouldn’t pay more
14.11.2019 from Joe
I drive an SW20 MR2 on (almost) original tyre sizes (Rear 225/50/15 and Front 205/50/15), so my choice is limited. For over a decade I've used the original Proxes as they were pretty good all-rounders and good value. The new version are very good in the dry - communicative and grippy, you can feel the back end start to let go and everything is progressive and fun. However, the tread pattern gives me zero confidence in the wet as the pattern is in a v direction on one side of the car and a ^ direction on the other. Not a mistake, the "Outside" markings insist this way round. This has to have a huge impact on clearing standing water as the tread is reversed on one side of the car, so I have zero confidence in the wet as each side of the car will behave differently. Bring back the old style that were ^ all round please!

Superb tyres and a good price.
14.10.2010 from Steve the audi driver
Had two sets of these on my previous car (Vw bora) and now on the A4. Always impressed for the price, drive as good as they look, replaced a set of ageing continental contact sport 3 that were terrible !
24.06.2009 from Neil Baldwin
Very very good tyre. Not quite as much outright grip as the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric but longer life and quieter.

much better wet grip than my last set of p6000s. will buy again

The most expensive conti's I've ever purchased (x4) Ouch!! I've bought a lot of other conti's in the past. Inc Sportcontact & Uniroyal tyres. Ecocontact5 are noisy, very average grip levels in wet & dry conditions. Poor wear levels for a so called eco tyre :-( Neither do I like the feel of them during cornering. I will not buy these budget/mid range level tyres again. I really don't have anything positive to say about these tyres. Apart from when I'm going to change them. Buy another mid range tyre instead or even a budget & save money ;-)

These tyres are good value and perform safely and well when used within legal parameters on UK roads. One slight negative is road surfaces can sometimes make tyre noise quite high but other than that I will definitely buy them again.
12.09.2024 from Michael
The tyres were 7/10 when I got them, the wet straight line grip is great the dry performance is above average. Quiet and comfortable tyres. The tyre wear is poor, I had new arms, tie rods, drop links and bushings as well as alignment done afterwards. The tyres showed excessive wear on the edge after only 8000 miles. I always check tyre pressure every week.

Very quiet tyres, very smooth comfort.
20.04.2022 from Irving Stewart
The MX5 Mk3 NC is generally regarded by enthusiasts as the worst handling of all the MX5's due to its extra height, weight, and suspension settings but I deliberately selected this particular version for its comfort, power folding roof, and pleasant ride. When first purchased the car was fitted with ridiculously wide [10"] rims shod with obscure American tyres. It handled like a pig, followed every white line, and a matchstick on the road felt like a small boulder. Fortunately I swapped the big wheels, with another enthusiast, and acquired a set of 16" Momo alloys. These wheels were shod with Falken tyres, two of which were almost new and two almost shot. The decision was whether to change tyre brand completely or see how the Falkens fared. The various MX5 Forums showed a wide range of differing views on the best tyres for my MX5, at hugely differing costs, so I decided as an experiment to stick with the with Falkens and subsequently fitted a new pair to the front. At this stage I should add that it has taken me three years to rebuild this MX5, it is probably my last car, and it is very rarely driven to its limits. Whilst I still enjoy a spirited drive around the enticing Welsh and Shropshire roads, and the occasional run to Essex and the South Coast, I gave up thrashing my cars when I retired from the circuits over 50 years ago! Today safety, comfort, and pleasure are my prioroties! Over three years the Falkens have performed well for "budget" tyres. In the dry they behave well, are quiet, and very predictable. In the wet they can be induced to loose grip [especially on the rear] but I have never had the front break away unexpectedly or in a dangerous manner. An over enthusiastic right foot will induce wheelspin when pulling away in the wet, even in town, but the Falkens soon regain traction. In the dry the rear can be induced to "hang out" but I have never had any major concerns about the car swapping ends. Some of the younger members of the MX5 fraternity have told me that [when run at higher pressure] the Falkens behave well on the track but wear quite quickly which is something I have not tried, and will not experience. Compared to the exhorbitant wear rate of far more expensive "leading" tyre brands experienced by my friends [some as low as 12,500miles per set] on far more recent premium cars, I am more than satisfield with the Fakens and will probably, eventually, replace them with the same brand.
02.03.2022 from Fi Hoang
Great tyres at a good price. Well Recommended.
05.01.2021 from John
Very happy with the tyres - excellent grip in wet or dry conditions. Also wearing well and reasonably quiet.

I changed tyres from Conti Premium and I am preete happy with Hankook. It is also a premium tyre.
22.05.2020 from Pieter
The biggest problem with these tyres ar that they do not have rip protection. I have been using Hancooks on my previous car, so when looking for tyres for my current car, Hancooks came to mind. I had a better driving experience with the tyres that I replaced.
06.12.2019 from White
These tyres give a superb quiet ride. I also have these tyres fitted to the front of my vehicle, which have now completed 45,000 km and the wear is every bit as good as the Michelin tyres they replaced. Although I do not drive in an aggressive manner I have not noticed any detriment in road holding or fuel consumption.

Rotalla summer tyres mean excellence and reliability

Rotalla is a prominent Chinese manufacturer of budget tyres which has cemented a solid reputation in the industry in recent times. Its products don’t compromise excessively on quality, and the prices they offer are extremely competitive. If you’re a normal motorist with moderate driving frequency and distance each year, then the Rotalla summer tyres range should have the right solution for you.

Rotalla summer tyres with the best ratio of price:quality

Car owners typically like to opt for brand names that have a long-standing reputation when choosing tyres. Rotalla may not have been around as long as some, but they can provide great quality for a relatively small investment. The Rotalla F105 is a popular choice. Reports and tests list dry grip, road feedback and ride comfort as the particular strengths. What’s more, the tyre looks great with an impressive tread pattern and a rubber compound you can put your faith in when the weather gets warmer.

For SUV or light van drivers, the RF10 HT scores well among users. Strengths include grip in the wet and dry, with ride comfort and road feedback also credited as performing well. Essentially, tests and customer feedback sum up the tyre as performing well in the areas that are most important for an SUV. This is, perhaps, exactly what you would hope to get from a quality budget tyre. Of course it won’t have such universal excellence as a premium tyre, but it does the important things right for a low price.

What makes Rotalla the budget tyre to go for?

  • Strong performance in tests, and great customer feedback in most cases.
  • Chinese efficiency in action – get competitive prices on impressive technologies.

Rotalla – the new kids on the block

Don’t allow yourself to fall into the trap of thinking that Rotalla isn’t trustworthy as it has only been around since the late 1980s. They are part of the shift towards Chinese supremacy in manufacturing, and they offer genuine quality at budget prices. At www.tyre-guru.ie we only supply tyres we would use ourselves, and the Rotalla summer tyres range fits the bill.
